Yakuway’s New Office Furniture Has Arrived

Yakuway Indigenous Corporation is proud to share another exciting milestone in our journey – the delivery of our new office furniture for our Toronto, Lake Macquarie office.

Seeing the truck arrive and the furniture carefully delivered into our new space reminds us that our vision is steadily becoming reality and that it’s more than just a fit out, it represents preparation, growth, and our commitment to creating a culturally safe, welcoming environment for community.

This next step brings us closer to transforming the space into a warm and inclusive hub designed to support the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the Lakes region.

Our plans are to include:

• A welcoming reception area for community members
• A boardroom for governance meetings and community conversations
• Dedicated workspaces for staff
• Flexible open-plan areas to support future services and programs
• Beautiful natural light and calming lake views

We are so proud to be building something lasting at Yakuway - a community led service grounded in culture, connection, and collaboration.

As we continue preparing the space, we remain focused on our goal of opening our doors in 2026 and expanding access to Indigenous-led support in the Lake Macquarie region. We believe every step brings us closer to being able to help more people and strengthen community outcomes for generations to come.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported us on this journey so far and appreciate your encouragement and belief in our vision!

Watch this space for more news and milestones as Yakuway continues to grow.
